Simple Scheduling
New to this? What the instructions mean
Click means select with your mouse (or tap on a touch screen). Row menu means the small actions menu beside an item in a list. Drop-down means a box you click to choose an option. Drag and drop means hold the mouse button on an item, move it, then release.
CMS is your online screen-control system. Display means a managed screen. Publish makes a layout ready to play. Schedule chooses the screens and times.
Some buttons depend on your version and permissions. If your screen looks different, ask your administrator or get help.
Choose which screen shows your layout and when.
Your layout must be published, and your display must be connected and authorised. A “schedule” tells the system where and when to play content.
1. Select your content
- Click Schedule in the CMS menu.
- Click Add Event.
- Under Event Type, select Layout.
- Choose the layout you want to show.
- Click Next.
- Select the correct display or displays.
2. Choose a time
- For an ongoing schedule, leave Always selected and click Finish.
- For a limited schedule, click Next and select Custom.
- Enter the dates and times you want to use. If you use Relative time to start now, enter how many hours and minutes it should run.
- Check your selected screens and timings.
- Click Finish.
Important: “Always” means there is no end date. It does not automatically remove other content scheduled at the same time.
Open the Schedule grid or calendar. Confirm the event shows your layout, intended screens and timing. Then check the screen during the scheduled period.
Something not working?
If your CMS shows one form instead of a step-by-step wizard, use the older scheduling form instructions. Button names can vary between versions. If you cannot see an option, check with your administrator. For a screen that has not updated, follow the troubleshooting checklist.
More detail, screenshots and advanced options
Screen Moove has a variety of scheduling tools in order to deliver the right content at the right location at the right time.
All content to be shown on authorised Displays must be included in a Schedule. Displays check for new scheduled content periodically and will download any new items in advance of playback ready to be shown.
You may have a Layout created by a member of your team, in order to share an important announcement within a company, which is now Published and ready to be shown on Displays.
Creating a Schedule
